About Mr Grumpy

I have lived in the Philippines, with my partner, for twenty years. During that time, I have read about and experienced, directly or indirectly, the activities and actions of many Philippine institutions. From my, admittedly western, perspective I have found these institutions to be variously amusing, strange, unbelievable, frustrating, irritating, and downright infuriating.

I am the first to admit that I was a little bit grumpy before I came to the Philippines, but I like to think that advancing years have made me more considerate, and less instantly judgemental. Having said that, when I come upon perceived injustice, unfairness, incivility or incompetence, I find myself in a state of extreme grumpiness.
